Biggest Loser
Why do I love this show! I hate watching movies that I know will make me cry...like any movie where an animal dies (Old Yeller, Marley and Me, etc...) While I know that the Biggest Loser does not involve animals or dying it is still a tear jerker every week. But I also find it empowering...when I am working out I think about how hard these people are working and think if they can do it so can I :) Plus the transformations are amazing.

Paul McCartney is awesome...not bad for 67
This was the best part of the show! After some slower songs like Let it Be and Long and Winding Road and tributes to John, Linda and George he went crazy with Live and Let Die! It was cool to see...people went bananas :)

Yes I am alive...Michael Jackson is not!
Yes it is true...I am still alive! It has been a crazy year so far and work has been so busy that I have not had the time or really to much to report. Today we got our 101 cosponsor on the bill we are working through Congress and it was one of my targets that put us over the top :) While I do not really like New Jersey I have officially gotten every Democratic House member to sign on to HR 1618 (8 total). I do have to thank the NJ State Troopers and the NJ Teamsters for all the help! These are two good groups to have on your side...I love me some teamsters cause they have a power that I don't think many groups have. While I still have three other states and NJ to continue to work on...it is still a good day. Next I need to conquer Ohio...
As a reward my boss gave me three Fat Tires that a friend from Colorado brought him! I will enjoy them greatly...and if anyone else wants to bring me some next time they visit that would be greatly appreciated. Though I just found out that North Carolina now sells Fat Tire...i'm thinking beer run!
Finally, I found this tribute to Michael Jackson with one of my favorite songs! I like to remember the Michael that was just a little boy. Thriller of course was major in my house...I grew up in the video age and that was the ultimate video of all time!

New Jersey

Just back from a couple of days in New Jersey. Can't say I really like that state. My major problem has been the fact that you can not take any left turns in Jersey! I also didn't know that Princeton University was actually in Princeton NJ...I always figured most of the ivy leagues were either in the New England area or New York. It looked like a very beautiful campus.

Let us not forget...
I think everyone should take the time and listen to Martin Luther King's "I have a dream" speech. To often the reality of the world is forgotten and hence we forget why we celebrate or appreciate. Here are some quotes that I think we can all relate to...black, white, brown, man or woman. I hope each of takes the time to educate not only yourself but your children. It comes down to character..
"I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character."
"I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: 'We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal.'"
"I have a dream that one day on the red hills of Georgia the sons of former slaves and the sons of former slave owners will be able to sit down together at a table of brotherhood."
"Now is the time to lift our nation from the quicksand of racial injustice to the solid rock of brotherhood. Now is the time to make justice a reality for all of God's children."
"Let freedom ring. And when this happens, and when we allow freedom ring—when we let it ring from every village and every hamlet, from every state and every city, we will be able to speed up that day when all of God's children—black men and white men, Jews and Gentiles, Protestants and Catholics—will be able to join hands and sing in the words of the old Negro spiritual: "Free at last! Free at last! Thank God Almighty, we are free at last!"
